If you tried (and falied) to enter the flat BM or didn't fancy the bland landscape of the Vale of York, then perhaps the Soreen Stanbury Splash will tickle yer fancy:

£4 for partially marked 7.5m fell race near to Haworth and malt loaf to every finisher!!

With good parking and free hot drinks/ biscuits at finish. All within 45 mins drive of Pudsey. Falls nicely between WYWL XC dates as well.

Oi watch it, I take everything seriously!

It might be nearly 20 years ago since I did 1:19 at York, though I think I'll have to take a ticket to the moon to get a PB these days. Till then I'll have to put up with the next best thing: Adwalton Moor* on icy Moonday nights.

As for the Stanbury Splash, the first time I'd ran from that venue I heard the terrifying sound of the cricket club's toilet block door being slammed shut and locked as I was sat contemplating my own Splash

It took some frantic shouting and hammering to get someone to come and rescue me - not the time nor place to get locked in till the next cricket match.
