So, the VLM draw and social has almost arrived. The committee has made a decision on behalf of members and the proposed two-stage draw has been presented for consideration on the Forum and Facebook page. I recognise that the committee act to represent the members and not all decisions can be opened to general vote and/ or discussion.

There could however have been a request for a simple show of hands on a club night or preference voting on the FB pages? Also, for future I'm not sure if adequate awareness has been given to members on club nights or through the circulated newsletter? If I missed then sorry. That said, published feedback on the Form and FB page clearly signals that members are dissatisfied with the selection process, especially for Draw 2. I have also gained this feeling from general discussions with other Pacers.

Why then is the Club progressing with this proposed action?

It would appear on this occasion that the chosen proposal is unpopular and may create divisions rather than instil the intended sense of opportunity and/ or excitement for the social. As others have responded perhaps the best solution would be:

a) Have ONLY 1 draw for ALL rejectees and select the lucky 4 (cue drum roll...)
OR
b) If Draw 2 proceeds, ALL other potentially interested members boycott Draw 2 and ONLY rejectees are inserted.

Andrew Byrom, I have started a new thread with the post that you originally put here, if you don't mind.

This thread, dominated by it's discussion about the recent controversial draws (now done, with draw 2 boycotted by some members and fittingly producing a fair outcome), will soon be locked.

Congratulations to all those rejectees who won a place in the draw.

Please all, use other thread for future comments about the race itself.
