Yorkshireman half is a counter. (funnily enough Yorkshireman full isn't - it's only a cat CL)
Wharefdale full isn't a counter (I don't think - I think it's cat CL).
Full Tour of Pendle is a counter (cat AL)
From memory you need to do 2 from the following categories:
AL
AM
BL
[rules on
www.threepeaksrace.org.uk]
Where A/B/C stands for the ascent (A being toughest) and L/M/S standing for distance (Long/Med/Short).
Problem with races like the YM and Wharefdale marathons is the ratio of height to length is diluted by the distance, hence knocking it down to a Cat C race.
Or like Dave M says, I think they would accept a relatively fast paced road marathon. Not that that will do you any good on the peaks.
I've heard people say they don't check - but don't hold me to that.
