YVAA -22/08 West Vale- important information 5 years 7 months ago #1

The next YVAA Multi-terrain GP is hosted by Stainland at West Vale, near Halifax on 22nd August.
The organiser is concerned that with dusk being about 8.20pm and much of the race in woodland, that light levels could be low towards the end of the race. This will be most likely for the slower runners but with heavy leaf cover could affect all.
Unfortunately we cannot make the start earlier as our entry / results team cannot get to the race to start Registration for an earlier start.
We are looking to see if we can possibly shorten the route to allow an earlier finish or find a route to avoid the woodland in the second half.
Please pass this information onto your members if they do these races and suggest head torches might be useful if they have them!

Update to earlier post***

To all YVAA affiliated clubs and individuals,
Following on from my email yesterday it has now been decided that we will start the YVAA Multi-terrain GP at West Vale, organised by Stainland at 7.20 pm. This is 10 minutes earlier than previously advertised. It should also be noted that the start is several minutes jog from Registration so Registration closes 15 minutes before start of race so that is now 7.05 pm. Head torches may be useful in the wood particularly for slower runners or if a very overcast day!
If any of your members take part in this series please pass this on to them.
Many thanks,
