It is that time of year where we splash around in mud all in the name of running. Open to all no matter how slow or fast you think you are. Great team spirit from all the teams in the league.

Venue: Hopton Mills Cricket Club
Time: 10:00
Registration: New timing system tags (aim for 9.30 collection please)
Adress: 18 Woodbottom , Mirfield , WF14 8HG

Parking: Ample parking is available within the mill complex. Obviously share cars where possible.
Course is around 4.2 miles , a little shorter than normal. :woohoo:

Pie and peas available afterwards £2 (bar open also). There are showers and changing facilities.
Footwear is miniumum trail shoes , course is NOT suitable for spikes.

Does this mean that we will need corresponding numbers allocated too, (even if we don't wear the numbers) and will we keep these for the season?

Still early days on this concept however plans are something like.
Race tags collected at each race , these are then assigned to the runner for that race only.

Dave Hutchings from Stainland wrote the system we are going to use. He's already tested it on a couple of Stainland races and went well.

Sure it could be used in other leagues in some form. Was that your thinking ?

Hi Dave, yes, the Yorkshire Vets invited Dave H along to their last meeting with a view to using the chip system in the Grand Prix races or their relay championships.

As far as the GP is concerned, it was felt that the tags should be kept for the season, as are the numbers etc., etc.

They were told that we are trialling them in the WYWL series, so they will be observing and seeing how it goes, and I think perhaps they will try out themselves in a relay championship. Ongoing. :)

As it is the Christmas season , the Dewsbury race will be the annual fancy dress. There is a small prize for best male/female fancy dress on the day.
Obviously very optional but justs adds to the fun and mud.

Great turnout at the 1st race (33 pacers took on the challenge). Pudsey came 2nd on the provisional results across the board. Not to big up any gender but the women's team had a great run.
Course was officially 4.2 miles however due to last minute issues a few alterations were introduced so came in around 4.0 miles . I am sure you all loved the hills.
