The final regulation race of the WYWL is not far away now.
PLEASE NOTE 2.00pm START TIME

Venue: Baildon Rugby Club
Jenny Lane
Baildon
SHIPLEY
West Yorkshire
BD17 6RS

Approx 4.5 miles, 1 lap course. Fell or trail shoes depending on the weather, no spikes. We will meet at the Baildon Rugby club as usual then lead people over to the start, 5-6 min walk/jog. The finish is in roughly the same place as the start, so will be best to take jumpers/warm clothes over to the start/finish. Changing rooms and showers available at the rugby club. Food/drinks will be available in the clubhouse afterwards.

We do NOT plan on using the wrist tag system. So just a case a run as hard as you can and grab the highest place lolly stick as possible #Easy

Hi Dave,
As you gathered the Yorkshire Vets were going to consider using the "chip" timing system if successfully tried out at the WYWL.

It obviously seems to have been having problems. Do you know what the problems were? Excessive queueing for registration, missed signals, etc.?

Do they want the tags back?

Cheers

In theory the principle is good , in practice the results captured at each race did not get above 80%. Dave Hutchinson was looking into this.
Really need 99% or better to make it worth while.
Took the decision to give Hutch some time to review where it can be improved etc.

Feel a tag per season is the only true way to go for WYWL. Registration per race is not ideal. For the YVAA you still need registration to collect the money , so different for you.
If you still have a wrist tag just give it to Hutch when you see him. Laters

Many thanks to the 21 men and 5 ladies who ran for Pudsey at today's cross country (eh hem - fell race) on Baildon Moor. 2pm is probably not the best time for a race but due to the Rugby commitments Baildon were unable to arrange a morning start. Thanks to Baildon for a great course and to the marshalls who must have been frozen especially when it started to snow near the end. Also thanks to Dave Butler and all his team for all the work they have put into this season's competition. Its good to see emerging teams like Stadium and Queensbury and we have done well to hold on to second place although personally I think we have more than enough strength within our own club to be giving Stainland a much harder time than they have had this season. Maybe next season.
