Anyone doing this? Thinking about it as entered Kentmere and a bit of a novice on the fells so need experience. Would like advice and/or a companion for Fairfield.

From memory, almost identical routes but for different start points. An hour of solid climbing and a technical, rocky, decent where knowing the lines is important. Fairfield cost me 3 months last year as I had a good climb and excitedly took a few risks on the downhill: jumped off a small craggy step and battered a vertebrae.

If the clag is down then BOTH are tricky to navigate and, as GF says, Fairfield has very rocky tech descent. I also fancy but would mean too much racing - maybe next year? As alternative think there was Pacer chat about doing a Wharfedale reccie that weekend, if interested?
