You should have all received correspondence relating to this event however please be aware of all the following information extracted from the sent correspondence.

Apologiesy if this is going on a bit but this is VERY IMPORTANT.

Team running numbers
These MUST be worn by all team members, and will be issued at the start of each leg. Club colours must be worn by UKA - registered teams. Other teams must turn out in matching colours.

Arrange for your first leg runners to register (bringing the completed team list) and collecting the team baton before 07.30. from Heath Rugby Union Football Club, Stainland Road, Greetland, Halifax HX4 8LS.

Please complete your team details, on the sheet, and ensure a member of your first leg team hands it in at registration prior to the start so that we can note race information on our computer and to comply with FRA and Police requirements. (NIGEL AND JENNY DEALING WITH THIS)

Subsequent leg registration times are as follows

Please note, in 2012, a team (which would have finished in 4th place), were disqualified for not carrying the required kit, spot checks will take place, and teams will continue to be disqualified if in breach of any rules.

Presentation
Presentation of prizes to take place at approx. 17.00 at Heath Rugby Union Club.

At the finish food (pie and peas and a hot drink) will be provided for each runner on production of their race number. Subject to availability, food will also be available for non-runners at £2.00 per portion.

In addition, food and bar facilities will be available within the club.
CAR PARKING
We need everyone's co-operation and good sense, it has been necessary to reduce the number of teams in the event due to past problems with parking and all runners must obey the rules of the road,

Police are often in attendance and will issue penalty notices, it is the responsibility of all drivers to park courteously for the benefit of all residents and to ensure the longevity of this event. Please do not remove No Parking Signs or Cones, these are there for the very purpose of not permitting parking at those points.

Please do not obstruct driveways of local residents and please be courteous. Keep noise down especially early in the morning. In particular, because of heavy congestion in past races, the following rules will be applied:¬-

Start
There is plenty of parking at start and finish at Heath Rugby Union Football Club, Stainland Road, Halifax, HX4 8LS. There is also a car park at crossroads/traffic lights (100yards or so away). Marshalls will be around giving directions.

Hinchliffe Arms
At the Hinchliffe Arms no cars may go down the minor road to the actual changeover point. Park on the main road away from the bends – Be aware! the police booked illegally parked cars again last year.

Todmorden
Parking available at the High School with overspill parking at the Hare and Hounds. Please follow signs and any directions given by marshals.

Blackshaw Head
This has been a constant nightmare for several years now, however the local residents have kindly arranged a small car park which should be available on the day for approximately 20 cars, please follow the signs for the car park and when this is full, please park away from the church and park on Old Shaw Lane on one side only towards Jack Bridge. There is adequate parking on the road to Jack Bridge. Please follow directions from marshals. The local residents are happy to support the event as long as it is well managed and have agreed to provide tea and cakes for leg 3 finishers and supporters, so please try and support this gesture by taking some cash along to purchase these.

Wainstalls
At Wainstalls, please park on one side of road only to the change over point. If parking in village, again, please park on one side of the road. Do not obstruct driveways of local residents. This is a bus route - cars may be towed away by the Police if you fail to obey this instruction. Please ensure that runners collect their numbers at registration opposite the bus turning circle before proceeding to the changeover point and allow adequate time to jog along to the changeover point. We have a farmer’s field to park in on the day but please follow marshal’s instructions.

Graham - Numbers are provided when you arrive at the checkpoint.

Whistle and compass's are usually available at any Outdoor suppliers although I am sure there must be a club member who can loan these to you. (I have both if you are really desperate although I am not certain I will be able to get to the club Thursday - let me know if still struggling by Thursday afternoon and I will see what I can do).

Regarding full body cover under FRA rules this is necessary, doesn't mean you have to wear them but they do need carrying therefore you need a bum bag and your wet weather stuff such as running jacket, trousers, hat and gloves. I assume you have these otherwise its a trip to a running shop).

Re Maps - Nigel have you provided these or are they in the pack? If not might be a case of running off a copy of one of the other Leg 6 runners maps. You only need to carry a map of the area you are running not a full ordnance map.
