Has anybody read the article about the Golden Lion being the best pub in Leeds?

Could anybody please explain this - I went in there several years and it was dirty, unkept, nobody in, hardly any beer on, landlady and landlord worse for wear - not a good pub. Is this a publicity stunt to get people going in? Every time I pass there is no more than half a dozen people in.

There are definitely a lot more pubs in Pudsey that are better than this one.

Not in the good pub guide (not sure they ever have been in it!)
Just out of interest the only Pudsey pub that makes it into the 2013 good pub guide is the Fleece on Fartown, surprised the Bank House does not get a mention as the beer (and selection available) has always been good every time I have been in.

I believe all four you've mentioned are shut, you aren't hoping to get a pint in the White Cross anytime soon are you John?

Tried a few weeks ago but all they had that wasn't flat was a pint of Stones.

I thought the Ivy was still open.
