Dear All, there has been some recent interest in this event, so all seems dandy as regards the two teams. Steve Boom will be travelling with us and informs me he has a much improved Achilles and is able to run. Hence, I propose to mark him as first reserve. If things go as per usual things will likely change again, so, Steve, please watch this space.
Now confirmed:
Nigel Armitage
Dave Byrom
Dave Cooper
Jenny Cooper
Sharon Hague
Robert Samuels
Darryl Stead
Russell Stead
Graeme Tiffany
Jim Wheldon
Dave Woodhead
Stephen Woulds
Steve Boom - reserve
A few things to be thinking about. Please familiarise yourself with the event website:
merciarelays.org.uk/ and especially the kit list (note all will need a club vest - if you haven't got one let me know).
Please think about which of the legs you'd like to do, and whether you wish to run solo or in a pair (and if so with whom).
I need a vol. for one of the navigation legs. Darryl said he'd do it if necessary but someone else may be keener?
Logistically we need to decide how we are going to get to Church Stretton, i.e. what time we are going to set off and who is going to drive. Dave Woodhead will be making his own way from Cheshire on Saturday morning with his family. That leaves 11 of us; I guess, in three cars. Any volunteers?
The place we are staying has ten beds (someone will need a camp bed or mattress - or will have to share;). You need only bring a towel, as bedding is provided.
One
point of urgency
is indicating if you want a vegeterian meal after the race. I need to send requirements in the next couple of days.
I'll produce a full final briefing in the next couple of days, but please drop me a line if you have questions.
